Capsule Geology

The Horribilis 11 occurrence is located between Weedon Creek and the Crooked River, approximately 8 kilometres northeast of the north end of Weedon Lake.

Regionally, the area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Mississippian to Permian Antler Formation and Triassic to Jurassic Takla Group.

Locally, a brecciated and silicified andesite hosts minor pyrite.

In 1988, a sample (33250) assayed 0.185 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18574).

Work History

In 1988 and 1989, Placer Dome Inc. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling and a 23.1 line-kilometre ground magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the area as the Horribilis 1-14 claims.

In 1992, Placer Dome Inc. completed a program of biogeochemical sampling and a 24.0 line-kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the area immediately west of the occurrence as the Weedon Creek 1-2 claims.

During 2007 through 2011, Xstrata Canada Corp. completed programs of soil and/or till sampling, an airborne magnetic survey and 9.3 line-kilometres of induced polarization surveys on the area immediately west of the occurrence as the BL-14 (Summit 1-7) group of claims.

In 2020 and 2021, Golden Planet Mining Corp. completed a regionally extensive program of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock, till and soil) sampling and a 4851.0-line-kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the area as the Rider property.
